Hi! I'm Helena.
I'm a queer and nonbinary Austrian-American freelance cinematographer, cam op, 1st AC and FAA-certified drone operator based in Denver, Colorado with experience in international filmmaking.
I have a bachelor's degree in Film Production, Communications, and Media Studies from Grinnell College and I studied 16 and 35mm Cinematography at the Film and Television Academy at the School of Performing Arts in Prague and Directing at the Film and Television School in London. I'm a 2020 Thomas J. Watson Fellowship recipient.
My favorite projects are those that tell stories not often told. I'm deeply committed to creating safe sets and uplifting marginalized voices. I believe that all media should be created with rigorous intentionality.
